About Van Hipp

A veteran of Operations Desert Storm and Restore Democracy, Van D. Hipp Jr. is currently the Chairman of American Defense International, a Washington D.C.-based consulting firm for numerous national and international organizations. A recipient of the Bronze Star, Mr. Hipp served as the Army's Deputy Assistant Secretary, as well as the Principal Deputy General Counsel for the Navy. Due to his more than two decades of experience in both the military and civilian sectors, Van Hipp Jr. is considered an expert regarding the War on Terror. As a result, he has appeared on Fox News more than 400 times, discussing topics ranging from Presidential elections, the War on Terror, and current events. In addition to appearances on MSNBC and CBS, Mr. Hipp has also authored a variety of articles on topics ranging from U.S. economic ties to China, to National Public Radio's role on Armed Forces Radio Network.

Committed to actively supporting charitable organizations, Van D. Hipp Jr. is a volunteer with the National Rural Health Association
, and he earned the group's 2011 National Outstanding Achievement Award. In addition, Mr. Hipp is a member of the Salvation Army's National Capitol Board of Advisors, and was honored with a "Reflecting God Award," which aims to spotlight individuals who have furthered humanitarian causes. In 2007, Van D. Hipp was honored with a "Real Hero" award from Delta State University due to his contributions in the fight against cancer.

Mr. Hipp serves on the Board of Directors for the American Conservative Union. He also endowed the Hipp Lecture Series at his alma mater Wofford College, which features discussions and debates on matters related to national security and foreign affairs.
